A perfect place to escape the city's polluted and busy life. Tinago falls offers a kind of experience that refreshes your body and soul because of it's ambiance. The soothing sound of the falls, the jungle-like pathway, the greenery of the place, and the feeling of isolation will really make you in love with nature. It will make you forget about all the burdens that you have and just let you enjoy and be in peace in the moment.

There are many things that you should do while in Tinago. One of the best things to do is to go under the falls. It's a must-try though it really requires a lot of strength because of the falls' massive current. You may swim or you may choose to ride on the bamboo raft and just pay ten pesos. It is obligatory to wear a life jacket, of course (which only costs fifteen pesos for rental in this time of writing) for safety purposes. For the brave hearts, cliff jumping is really a good idea. Moreover, you may also relax and chill along the rocks and caves and experience a free massage by the mini falls.

Tinago, which means"hidden" in english, is really far. So here are the essentials to bring in going there. First, is unlimited water if possible, to keep you hydrated since trekking there requires a 500 plus staircase which will really need a lot of stamina. Second, many food to keep your stay more enjoyable and to keep you energize after being soaked in the cold water. Third, an underwater or a water-proof camera because I assure you that it will really complete your visit since taking a picture under the falls is pretty nice.

Tinago falls is in Iligan City, Lanao del Norte in the southern island of Mindanao. Going there in your own vehicle is highly recommended so that the time will not interfere in your stay. You can also reach there by commuting but you need to be time conscious since going home late will be very risky because of the isolated place. You'll just ride a habal-habal from the main road and vice versa which costs only thirty pesos in this time of writing.

So before going there, you should really plan well on what to do and what to bring so as to make your stay worthwhile. Plus, a good night sleep is best before going to energize and prepare you for the long yet awaited journey. Hoping for your fun trip!
